The story of Pierre Marcolini
The Pierre Marcolini workshop in Brussels brings together artisans with exceptional expertise.
Constantly reinvented to reflect the spirit of the times, the House’s recipes such as ganaches, pralines and confections are handcrafted according to the finest traditions.
Pierre Marcolini, founder of the Maison éponyme, has been nurturing and mastering his artisanal know-how from bean to bar for over 30 years.
Their needs
The first phase of the project Pierre Marcolini’s was to migrate Odoo ERP from version 14 to version 16 to benefit from the latest features and enhancements.
It was essential to ensure business continuity during this migration, particularly for accounting and the points of sale located in Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg and Germany. We implemented a fully integrated click-and-collect workflow at the POS, as well as automated reconciliation processes between the group and its subsidiaries. In addition, we developed an automatic reconciliation of Adyen payments for every transactions in all the point of sales.
In addition, the project involved integrating several complementary solutions, including API-based connectivity with the e-commerce platform and an advanced reporting solution powered by our Smart Analytics dashboards. The scope also included the complete digitalization of the logistics flow, notably through the deployment of scanning processes and automation tools to support operational requirements.
Solution
Idealis Consulting supported Maison Marcolini in the migration of their Odoo platform. Their Odoo V14 system had not been implemented by Idealis, so this project involved taking over an existing setup.
This migration made it possible to update key modules such as accounting, sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, point of sale, and invoicing within a multi-company environment. It also enabled the integration of advanced tools like Smart Analytics for improved data management and informed decision-making. Stock management was enhanced through the implementation of GS1-based processes and better inventory and traceability label printing. Their e-commerce platform was integrated and a click and collect system was deployed. Additionally, scalable and responsive support was ensured by continuously working on improvements and delivering automation solutions tailored to the specific needs of Maison Marcolini. Finally, the system now manages around forty points of sale spread across multiple locations, open six days a week.
Their benefits
The results achieved included a significant improvement in operational efficiency, with smoother and more automated processes. Enhanced data visibility through advanced analytics tools made strategic decision-making easier. Profitability increased as a result of optimized operations and reduced costs.
Marcolini fully benefited from our expertise, both technically and functionally. The implementation of the Odoo solution has significantly enhanced their day-to-day efficiency, resulting in optimized operations. This increase in efficiency has also been reflected in their profitability, driving a positive momentum.
They now also benefit from smoother warehouse management, as well as enhanced traceability of products shipped internationally through the implementation of labeling.
